PP Techniq delivers safe, flexible, and high-performance blade access platforms to the global wind industry.
Since 2003, we’ve helped operators reduce downtime, improve safety, and extend the maintenance season.

The SQYFlex flexible blade access platform system adapts to the contours of turbine blades, providing a stable and safe workspace for technicians, with optional weather protection for improved conditions.
With SQYFlex, blade repairs and inspections can continue in adverse weather, with optional protection helping reduce delays and maximize uptime without compromising safety.
Secured by 3 suspension points for even load distribution,
with integrated power supply for winches and tools.
Up to 3.0 m root diameter and 5.0 m blade chord.
14 m/s wind speed tolerance for consistent performance.
Standard: 0–40 °C.
+ Arctic Package: −25 °C.
360° around each blade with a reach of ~16.2 m from the tower towards the blade tip.
Approx. 3.5 ton total including trailer. Transport dimensions allow towing by a standard vehicle and easy shipping between sites.
~10 minutes on-site setup plus wire installation.
550 kg or 3 technicians
plus equipment.
The platform surrounds the blade surface, giving technicians 360° access around the surface within standard blade dimensions. This wide coverage makes it easier to complete complex repairs and inspections. Tasks that otherwise used to require multiple setups or specialized equipment can with the SQYFlex be made in one go.
With a payload limit of 550 kg, SQYFlex provides room for up to three technicians plus tools, with a maximum of two on the cantilever.
Heavy components and multi-person tasks can be handled safely in a single lift, improving efficiency over traditional rope access typically limited to one person or smaller baskets.
The platform offers optional weather protection that shields against rain and wind, enabling repairs in conditions that would stop other methods. A flexible sealing system conforms to the blade to improve technician comfort.
With the Arctic Package, operation extends into freezing temperatures. This lets crews continue blade work beyond fair-weather months, reducing seasonal downtime.
SQYFlex automatically adjusts its shape with electric actuators to fit different blade profiles. Whether the blade is wide at the root or narrow toward the tip, the platform flexes to accommodate it, hugging the surface for maximum accessibility.
This adaptability covers a wide span of of turbine models and blade sizes within defined geometry ranges. The intelligent design enables easy control and adaptability to blade geometry so technicians can focus on the blade maintenance work.
Engineered with multiple redundancies, SQYFlex comes equipped with advanced safety features: emergency stop buttons, an inclinometer that alerts if the platform tilts, overload sensors on the hoists, limit switches to prevent unsafe movements, and an automatic fall-arrest backup system.
The platform provides a stable, guarded environment for technicians, greatly reducing risks compared to open-air rope work. SQYFlex is certified to EN 1808 standards for suspended platforms, underscoring its compliance with strict safety regulations in lift operations.
By allowing maintenance in higher winds and adverse weather, SQYFlex increases operational availability for turbine repairs. It operates safely up to 14 m/s in downwind orientation, while typical mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) must stop at lower wind speeds.
Fewer weather delays mean that issues can be addressed sooner, minimizing turbine downtime. Planned maintenance operations has a higher likelihood of being performed as planned.
In addition, SQYFlex removes the need for heavy cranes or extensive scaffolding, cutting expensive mobilization costs. This also lowers the carbon footprint of maintenance projects by avoiding idling diesel cranes and multiple lifts.
In short, SQYFlex helps you get blades serviced faster, safer, and at lower overall cost.
For next-level blade repair, combine precision access with clean, off-grid power.
SQYFlex and SQYPower are designed to work hand-in-hand.

SQYFlex isn’t just a concept – it has already proved itself, making a difference in real-world projects.
Major wind farm operators have trialed and adopted SQYFlex as a game-changing maintenance tool. For example, ScottishPower Renewables successfully tested SQYFlex at Whitelee, the UK’s largest onshore wind farm, and found that technicians could carry out blade repairs even during heavy rain that would normally shut down the work.
The platform’s performance was described as “an eye-opener” for its ability to keep crews productive when “the heavens opened” with bad weather.
This trial demonstrated how SQYFlex can extend maintenance windows and keep turbines spinning by enabling repairs in conditions previously thought impossible.
It’s innovations like these that earned SQYFlex recognition in the renewables industry – even winning awards for improving safety and extending the blade maintenance season while reducing the carbon footprint of operations.
By replacing or supplementing traditional rope access and crane platforms, SQYFlex has shown it can deliver a more comfortable and safer working environment and more reliable maintenance schedules. Technicians report a more comfortable, controlled experience, which leads to better repair quality and consistency.
For wind farm owners and O&M managers, this means maintenance tasks can be completed on time, with less weather-related cancellation and a lower risk of accidents – ultimately protecting your assets and bottom line.
Our in-house training programs ensure your technicians operate SQYFlex safely, efficiently, and with full confidence—from day one. Courses are available for operators, instructors, and service teams.
